Resort World Birmingham

RESORTS WORLD BIRMINGHAM

Last night we went to Resorts World Birmingham to check out what it is all about!
I went and wasn't sure what to expect, I knew there was a hotel, casino and a few shops but didn't know how it would all fit together.
I heard that they had spent  £150 million!!! on it so I was expecting something quite spectacular!

 Whats there?

GETTING HOTEL
A Luxury 4 star Hotel that looks so luxurious, will have to stay there!

RESTAURANTS & BARS
There is plenty of bars and restaurants to wine and dine at including pizza express, TGI'S,  A tepinjaki restraunt and the likes of Nando's and GBK to be opening soon. We had a cocktail from the High line bar, which was nice and reasonably priced while we waited for our table to be ready downstairs.

THE VOX BUSINESS SPACE
There is a space that you can hire for events, while I was there was a lovely wedding on, it was lovely to see everyone in all there lovely sparkly clothes <3

 CINEMA
The cinema looked pretty cool I must say! With 11 screens with 3D and IMAX  and lots of ice cream machienes I'm sure watching a film there wouldn't be a let down!

GENTING CASINO
This looked so much fun! will defo return to go here, they have 31 gaming tables, an outdoor gaming area where you can smoke and game but be covered by the wind and rain and there is lovely fire pits to keep warm, looks lushhhh.

OUTLET SHOPPING
While a lot of stores are still empty or not quite finished yet there are stores such as Next Outlet, Lyntt, Sketcherts, Nike, H&M, Bench, Phase Eight, Pretty Green. A lot of these are discounted stores where you can grab a bargain. My boyfriend got some shoes that should have been £95 for £45 from nike!

SPA & LEISURE
Wow! did this look luxurious, a pool, spa and treatment rooms. I saw a photo of the pool on one of the screens and it looks gorgeous. I can feel a  girly spa day coming on!! woo!

Overall, I would say I was impressed by it as it has some good stores and entertainment places. It will be interesting to see how it does. Im just not sure what will draw people there as posed to other places such as Bicester Village and Cheshire Oaks or even the bullring. However I will defiantely be returning to try my luck at the casino and to have a go in that beautiful swimming pool! If you are thinking of going I would certainly give it a look even if you just go for a drink and some nibbles!  Have any of you been? What did you do there?

⚓Salcombe 2015⚓

I've just returned from the best week ever. In my favourite place with my favourite people. For those of you who don't know that place is Salcombe, in South devon. This is a place that I have  spent many weeks over many years throughout my childhood. Each twist and turn has its own memories from when I was younger and used to roam free. It is one of those places that however long you leave to return it will always stay the same.

A quick look at Salcombe...

With it's narrow scenic streets and it's characteristic cottages, Salcombe has to be one of the prettiest places I've ever been to. It's as though all of your worries are whisked away the moment you arrive and you throw on your flip flops and relax.

PUBS&CAFE'S⚓
The pubs are gorgeous with a really seaside feel to them including The Victoria Inn, The King's Arms, The Fortescue and The Ferry Inn. They are child friendly in the day with play areas, dogs are welcome too with the Kings arms offering an 'a la barc' menu (cute!)We went for a drink at The Wardroom Cafe, I had a luxury hot chocolate which came with mini marshmallows, a flake and cream <3

RESTRAUNTS⚓
We had a few meals out including breakfast and lunch. We went to The Kings Arms for lunch and sat on they're sun terrace. It was so lovely, the sun was beaming down on us and we had mussels and chips, yum! We also  went for Dinner at The Harbour Hotel after my boyfriends graduation and were treated like royalty, it looked like a lovely hotel and I will defo be looking to stay there in the future.

SHOPS⚓
The shops are a mix of one off's and chains including Cath Kidston and Fat face, Boots and Musto. The most exciting thing is Cranch's sweet shop. Established in 1869, this sweet shop has every kind of sweet you could wish for.  From teeth and lips to sugared mice, candy canes to flying saucers your bound to find something that tickles your fancy.

FASHION⚓
The fashion down there is Also SO different to home. No one cares down there what so ever, you don't have to wash your hair everyday and put on your best outfit. Infant the less clothes you wear is better as you get soaked on the boat! Nobody really wears much makeup or tan it's all natural and beachy. Jack Wills was established in Salcombe so a lot of people have found out about Salcombe through that and wear all the gear! Everywhere you look there are Quba Sails coats and MUSTO hats and boat shoes, true english style.  A pair of flip flops and some shorts and a big thick coat would do you.

BEACHES⚓
The beaches down here are stunning, when the weathers right obviously! Many of them have ferries that can take you across for a small fee. Over at East Portalmouth there is a beach cafe called The Venus Cafe! My last name is Venus so obviously i have to have a coffee!

Im on the way home as I write this. We went for a week and I'm honestly gutted to be coming home, It's 100% my happy place!
Here are some photos from my week there... enjoy x
