FLAWLESS Revolution Eyeshadow Palette

I must tell you all about this fabulous little palette I have found.

The brand 'Revolution' has taken the makeup industry by storm in the past few months and I can see why! All of their products I have tried so far have been amazing, stay tuned for my next blog post on their contour and highlighting kit!

This Eyeshadow palette comes in beautiful rose gold packaging, which was what really caught my eye. It also has a mirror running along the full length of the palette which is what I look for when choosing eye palettes.

The exterior has a black glossy finish to it which makes it easy to wipe clean after use. It also has a snap shut function on the front so there is no risk of leaving it open and spoiling your eyeshadows.

It has 32 different eyeshadow colours with different textures to each one, some matte, ideal for bases and others metallic/sparkly.
The colours are a great variety including day and night shades which means its great for the week and weekends and there is no need to carry multiple eye shadows in your bag!

As you can see by the usage on this i love the Copper Shimmer shade in this palette. It's a lovely copper colour and being blue/green eyed i like to use this to make my eyes stand out. Im excited to try the rest, Red night looks like it could be lovely with a black smokey eye.

Here is a look I have created with this palette using colours, paper (top left) , highlight (top row, 4th in), Copper shimmer (3rd row, 4th in).

Now, where to get it and the price! I picked this up in my local Superdrug shop for drum roll please .... £8! You can't go wrong with this girls, the pigment's in the shadows are amazing, I would say it is on par if not better than the Naked palette's!!

KIKO ultimate pen

Welcome back to my page,

Today I wanted to share my recent find with you, It is the KIKO ultimate pen, long lasting black eyeliner.

If you are anything like me liquid eyeliner scares me! Infact I'm rubbish at it, so this tip make the whole experience 10 times easier. I love this and I can tell I will use this as an everyday/handbag liquid liner when your out and about and doing things, The design of the pen makes it so effortless to use and easy to make many different kinds of thick/thin liner styles. The tip is like a Berol felt tip, it bends with your pressure and it is easy to build so you can apply much or as little as you like.

I Especially love the shape of the grip on the pen where you would usually hold it while applying the liner. The liner stays put for about 5\6 hours then it does start to smudge but nothing major.

They sell this in the KIKO stores for £6.90 which I don't think is too bad & they often have deals on, yesterday I picked one up for £4.00, thank you very much :)

Last nights makeup

Hi all hope you've had a lovely weekend, they go so fast!😩 especially if you work Saturdays like me, anyway, I can't moan.

Last night I went out with the girls to Penny Blacks In The Mailbox In Birmingham for my best friends birthday and today I've been at my dads in Cheltenham. What have you been up to?

I thought I would share with you some of the main products I used for my makeup last night.

Lashes- Eylure volume 107 (My fave!)

Eyes- revolution FLAWLESS eyeshadow palette, Charlotte Tilbury Cameleon eyeshadow stick.

Double wear foundation in shade SHELL BEIGE.

Powder- Maybelline super stay 24 hours.

Contour- CT Contour kit, also revolution sculpt and contour kit in shade CO4.

Blush- NARS in shade Orgasm.

Lips-Kiko lip liner in pearly pink.

Charlotte Tilbury- Hepburn honey.

Charlotte Tilbury- seduction lipgloss.

And of course to finish....Urban decay setting spray.

WHY YOU NEED GARNIER MICELLAR WATER

This is 100% the best value micellar solution. It easily removes foundation, concealer, blush/bronze and lipstick without me needing to rub on my skin to hard. While I doubt you'll get 200 uses (as advertised), it still works out the cheapest and it's the most effective. Make-up is easily removed and it's very gentle on the skin - far better removal than wipes. I like to use it with large oval pads so that you can take it off in large sections as taking your makeup this way can be quite time consuming. It also doesn't take a lot of product to work successfully, just enough to dampen a cotton pad. Even if you use this aswell as makeup wipes you won't be disappointed. Like other micellar solutions. It's not the best at removing waterproof make-up (doable, but leaves a bit of residue) but is otherwise very effective. Skin is slightly tacky for a few seconds and then you can safely slap on some face cream and crawl into bed.It leaves my skin feeling really clean and does not dry out my skin like some toners do.

overall i love this product and am stocking up as my mum has taken a liking to it also!

I hope they sell a smaller version, like half size, as it would be ideal for travel.

No7 Dramatic Lash - My First Impressions

It was that time again! When your mascara is dry and no matter how much you pump it nothing comes out. It was time for a change, I always buy the same mascara. Seventeen's Dolled up in Black. I headed to boots as I was on holiday in Salcombe and there wasn't many shops, they had this mascara on an introductory offer for £10. price will be £13.50 on 05.08.2015. You also get 40 boots advantage boots when you buy this, not bad!

Im quite the fussy one when it comes to mascaras as I like the brushes to be quite separated so I checked the brush in store and I liked what I saw. I can't see how these ball shaped mascaras can separate your lashes, if anything they'd clump! (my pet hate!- spiders legs!)

REVIEW

From first use, I was blown away!! I didn't really believe it would lift lashes by 70% like it says, but wow! What a difference! Pushes lashes up from the root, with full lash coverage, making my eyelashes look longer and fuller than ever! Even in this heat there is no crumbly bits falling off or any smudges☂ It deffinately gives the look of a good nights rest with the wide awake look it gives. I like to curl my eyelashes after I have put mascara on to really get them curling up and with this mascara they look amazing!

Soft and Gentle.

MAC SOFT AND GENTLE.

This is a luxuriously soft mineral powder with a shiny metallic finish.

The shade i chose was 'Soft and gentle'.
Now this looks dark in the pot and you think 'uh oh!' , this isn't going to highlight, but when you apply it it's completely different.

When the light hits this product it looks lovely. SO shiny. It shows off a range of colours from cream, pink, beige and orange.

I like to apply this to cheeks, brows and down the centre of you nose with a small contouring brush.

Although this product does retail at £23.00, it really does last, I've had mine a few months now and there isn't even a dent in it! The product itself is quite large and you don't need much of it, so it will last you forever.

I will defo be buying more of these as they are so gorgeous and really add a glow to your face. I think they can be hard to get hold of inshore as they sell out pretty quickly!

Sleek eyeshadow pallette review

hi guys!-hope you've all had a fabulous easter!I've bought a new eyeshadow palette by 'Sleek'.

All the colours look amazing! I'm going to do a quick review on a look i did with this pallete.

The palette i chose is called I- divine in 'original'. Recently I have seen a lot of eyeshadows that are sort of coppery, my favourite is the Charlotte Tilbury's ' Dolce Vita'. I love it, but it's rather pricey! I think it's £38 for the four eyeshadows, think i better save up :') . You can buy it here.

onto the review...

So I was browsing in the 'Sleek' section in Boots the other day when I stumbled across this palette. I have used their contouring kit for a number of years so i had already used there products and i've always been impressed. There was quite a few to chose from, I think ill be going back to get more and more haha. These retail at £7.99, not back considering you get 12 shades. I picked this one as it ranges from rose golds, to green and blue. Described as "12 shades of super-pigmented, longlasting, mineral based eyeshadow, designed to suit all" I thought this would be the most versatile to try first. I think i was also drawn to the shiny-ness of them all <3

First I prepped my eyelids with an eyelid primer. I used French Connections 'eyeshadow primer'. I got this in a christmas eye perfection set one year and its amazing.
Next i used a cream matte eyeshadow all over my lids. I think it was just a no7 one i have at home, sorry not sure which!
I then used the colour 'cream tea' all over my lids & took it up to my brow bone. This created a nice creamy base for me to work with.
Next i used 'big ben' on the crease of my eyelids- creating a glittery golden base.
I then used the shade 'penny farthing' on the corners of my eyes and along my brow bone, this colour is gorgeous and really makes your eyes 'pop'.
I then lined my bottom lash line with black liner.

Overall this look is so natural and can be worn day or night, with or without eye liner.

Overall rating 5/5

This eyeshadow stayed on all day and was still shining when i was taking it off,usually shimmery shades only last a few hours on me.

So there you have it! If you haven't tried Sleek makeup before I hope this post encourages you to do so, they have some lovely things!

small tips that will make a HUGE difference to your face♥

Heat your eyelash curlers-Doing this will help your lashes to curl easier and stay for longer. Blast them with the hairdryer wait until it cools a bit so you don't burn your eyelashes and voila!

Dust translucent powder over your mascara-To make your eyelashes longer- When applying a few coats of mascara, in-between dust on some powder to elongate your eyelashes.

Powder sets your lipstick!- Prep your lips and Apply your Lippy. Next, apply a tissue to your lips. Dust over the tissue with a loose powder for a longer lasting lippy, you won't be removing colour, just setting it in. Then apply a second layer for that glossy finish.

Perfect your cupids bow- with a X marks the spot. To make your cupid's bow pop out, the easiest way to get that perfect shape is to draw a small X on the top of your top lip so that you know where to work to.

Conceal bags with a triangle- When disguising dark under eye circles apply your concealer in a traingular shape from your lower lash line downwards Most of us cover up the actual bag itself which intact makes it more noticable! This method gives you the illusion that your eyes are brighter.

MASTER YOUR CONTOURING

Here goes my attempt at a contouring tutorial!This is just my way, I'm not an expert myself. I can however spot a bad contour, some people look like they've been abroad and sunbathed with their glasses on for too long.

What is contour?

so contour literally means to 'outline' a shape or a figure. In cosmetic terms it means to create shadows, so your shadowing your face. Shadows help to define certain areas, so any area you want to push back from your eye you need to contour.

What do you use?

I use sleek's contour kit which retails at £6.49 grab yours here
You also need a couple of brushes to apply the dark colour correctly.

What is highlight?
highlighting is the opposite of shadowing, it means adding light to your face. Opposite again to contouring your pulling things towards your eye.Making it appear brighter.

What do you use?

MAC's highlighter in light boost grab yours here. This is abit pricey at £18.50 but there are cheaper ones, for example in the Sleek contour kit there is two colours and the lighter colour from that would do perfectly fine it's just personal preference. Sleek also do a highlighter just like this for more than half the price i have linked it here. This product comes in 3 different shades, Bright Forecast, Radiant rose and Light boost.

So i start by applying the darker colour, i pout to create the natural cheek bone lines and apply with a slanted brush. http://www.boots.com/en/Real-Techniques-Limited-Edition-Duo-Fibre-Set_1333699/. I also put it along my forehead, down the sides of nose and along the jaw line.

next is the white (pale colour) I apply this to the middle of my nose, below the dark line on my cheek bone, in triangular sections from the eye down onto my cheeks, a small amount on my cupids bow and a splash on my chin.That was a long sentence! The MAC highlighter is like a pen so application is super easy. If your using a white powder or similar product to do this step then a blusher brush is fine to use or a fine fiber brush ( even an eyeshadow brush will do the trick)heres a cheap one.
Below are some photos of where you should be so far.

So by now your looking kinda creepy, its not the best look, You would 'nt want your crush to come to the door whilst you were contouring put it that way! My cousin will kill me when she sees this photo, but at least you have an idea what i mean.( love you Harriet!) :')

next step is to blend all this in and then apply your foundation. The other day i picked up some makeup sponges from the hairdressing warehouse so i have been using them to blend in. Any makeup sponges will do, lots of people like the beauty blenders, but I can't bring myself to spend £15 on a sponge.. heres one for you to see Im sure it's great but i just cant. You can buy them on E bay and they are just as good, there is a link here to one for £2.29! HERE. Take your sponge and wet it under the tap, it should double in size, squeeze out the excess water. Next, apply some foundation to the back of your hand and dab your blender into the foundation, I'm using my normal MAC foundation. You don't want too much as you just want to blend in the colours and you already have a lot of makeup on your face.

It's very important to set your face at this point,with powder. Use a powder brush I like Real Techniques powder brush. Any will do, this step is very important as you don't want the colours to run into each other.

It should all be coming together now and your face should be looking radiant and slim!

Those all important EYEBROWS!

That 'Perfect Brow' Shape.

My next post is about... yep you guessed it, eyebrows. My obsession. The one thing I won't leave the house without (You know what I mean anyway!). Keep reading to find out how I 'tame my bushes' hahaaa!

So the most important thing about eyebrows is a good basic shape. Endless amounts of makeup can't help badly shaped brows, if you're a 'sucker for a plucker' then leave them to grow for a few weeks (2 to 4 depending on how thin they are), over plucked brows are not attractive.Your arch should be starting just outside your pupil. Also, thicker brows generally tend to portray youth. So put the tweezers down... yes, you... step away!! For me I like to have them threaded, It's quick, bare-able on the pain scale and the effects are well worth it. I get mine done every month at my local newsagents, sounds horrendous really but there is a lady in a back room who does them for £3! £3 girls!! I do feel dodgy when I walk in and ask the cashier 'if she's upstairs' like it's some kind of drug deal!! haha. I heard of her through some friends whose eyebrows I admired and asked where they had their's done. She's a lovely lady, I always tip her a pound or two as i feel bad for her doing them so well for such little money! underselling herself If you ask me. I'd gladly pay £5. So yeah! If you live in Sutton Coldfield or Birmingham, try her out! She's in the newsagent's opposite Aldi.

I know a lot of people use eyebrow pencil to fill their brows but I just can't get the hang of it and end up looking like i have drawn lines on my face as if crossing off a word in a word-search! Which as you can imagine... is not a good look. If you can use an eyebrow pencil successfully, I take my hat off to you. I stick to my
brown eyeshadow and a small angled brush to create this look. I use the MAC eyeshadow in shade 'expresso' & eco tools angled eyeliner brush.

My top brow DO's & DON'T'S:

never use black- please please do not fill your brows with black, unless you want sharpie brows. Even if your hair is very dark naturally, go for a dark brown, it's too harsh otherwise.
Matte finish eyeshadows are best -you don't want to look sweaty.
Go for a Khaki Colour- Because hair naturally has a khaki undertone to it, using a brow pencil that has a touch of khaki colour will look more natural. For whatever reason, most companies have reddish tinted brow products. This colour just screams “Fake!” So say no to the red tones.
Use a concealer - underneath your brows to give that 'finished' look.
Trim your brows - another way to get that square look at the start of your brows is to trim your hairs with nail scissors, all to the same legnth. This will make them appear thicker and make an easier canvas for you to work with.
Eyebrow gel- If your brows are thick and curly, use a brow gel like this one to keep them in place all day. GOSH BROW GEL

Application:

Starting with my natural brow, I use a lash & brow comb to smooth out my hairs, I sometimes wake up with them in all different directions, quite funny, Jacob laughs at me. So now they're all standing to attention, I take my angled brush and apply eyeshadow to the bottom line, so all along the bottom of my natural brow shape. Then, along the top. So now you have your two lines to follow when you are filling in. Next, fill in the mid and ends of your brow with your brush with smooth strokes to spread the product evenly. Remember less is more so when you think you've put enough on, take a mirror into natural light and look at yourself at arms length, like someone else would. Finally, the 'front' if you like. So I HATE it when girls eyebrows look like tadpoles with a huge head and small tail. So for me I just simply follow the natural hairs making it slightly squarer as I get to the very top. Not too round, not too square.

if you look closely at the bottom photo, no ones two brows are the same, my left brow is a lot thicker at the start that the right, so do your best to match them up by adding bits into the g / a / p / s .

3 AMAZING MASCARAS TO TRY RIGHT NOW.

so like any other beauty junkie i have about 10 open mascaras in my makeup bag at the moment. I have a little order that i stick to every day.

if you're anything like me, i hate the feel of false lashes on my eyes, im a contact lense wearer and they seem to dry my eyes out. aswell as making my lids seem weighed down on a night out they have to be hands down the most annoying things. so, i've listed my top 3 mascaras to recreate that false lash effect without having to wear them. yippiee!

my all time favourite im pleased to say is from the seventeen range BY BOOTS. I get so excited when i buy a budget product that does the same as a branded one. priced at £6.49 its pretty affordable for all ages, especially if you have a voucher which boots are pretty good at. it has special lash lifting properties with 24 hour curl and lift. the brush is 'anti clump' which really does work. it loads the brush with just enough to create your doll like lashes without getting blobs of mascara on a single lash. I like to use this first in my routine to achieve the lift and separation I can then build on. if you're planning on applying more than one coat, do not let your lashes completely dry as this can cause them to stay rigid and hard to manipulate. MY ONE BAD POINT? nope, im struggling. 5 stars*****

my next favourite has to be Loreal's fALSE LASH telescopic mascara in magnetic black. this is abit more than your average mascara priced at £10.99 it's a bit of a gamble, but for me it was worth it, i've never looked back. It builds effortlessly, instantly lengthening your lashes. i recommend about 3-4 coats of this one to really get that 'wow' factor that false lashed give you. if i had to pick one bad point about this mascara i would say the brush is slightly too long, the amount of times i have given my self a nice black dot on the inside of my nose! but then you can do that with any mascara. All in all a very good mascara 4 stars ****

so those two mascaras, from Boots, you can get on 3 for 2 which they have on alot of the time, youve got to look after those pennies! :)

third on my list is Loreal volume million in ultra black. This is my mums favourite. She says its like magic in a bottle. it's quite a clever mascara as the brush has many bristles to really fan out your lashes and get them super spread out. on the top of the bottle there is an 'excess wiper' to remove any excess mascara, leaving it coated with just the right amount of product on the brush. priced at £10.99 it's again a bit dearer than your average, but still affordable, or hey.. use some boOts advantage card points.
