⚓Salcombe 2015⚓

I've just returned from the best week ever. In my favourite place with my favourite people. For those of you who don't know that place is Salcombe, in South devon. This is a place that I have  spent many weeks over many years throughout my childhood. Each twist and turn has its own memories from when I was younger and used to roam free. It is one of those places that however long you leave to return it will always stay the same.

A quick look at Salcombe...

With it's narrow scenic streets and it's characteristic cottages, Salcombe has to be one of the prettiest places I've ever been to. It's as though all of your worries are whisked away the moment you arrive and you throw on your flip flops and relax.

PUBS&CAFE'S⚓
The pubs are gorgeous with a really seaside feel to them including The Victoria Inn, The King's Arms, The Fortescue and The Ferry Inn. They are child friendly in the day with play areas, dogs are welcome too with the Kings arms offering an 'a la barc' menu (cute!)We went for a drink at The Wardroom Cafe, I had a luxury hot chocolate which came with mini marshmallows, a flake and cream <3

RESTRAUNTS⚓
We had a few meals out including breakfast and lunch. We went to The Kings Arms for lunch and sat on they're sun terrace. It was so lovely, the sun was beaming down on us and we had mussels and chips, yum! We also  went for Dinner at The Harbour Hotel after my boyfriends graduation and were treated like royalty, it looked like a lovely hotel and I will defo be looking to stay there in the future.

SHOPS⚓
The shops are a mix of one off's and chains including Cath Kidston and Fat face, Boots and Musto. The most exciting thing is Cranch's sweet shop. Established in 1869, this sweet shop has every kind of sweet you could wish for.  From teeth and lips to sugared mice, candy canes to flying saucers your bound to find something that tickles your fancy.

FASHION⚓
The fashion down there is Also SO different to home. No one cares down there what so ever, you don't have to wash your hair everyday and put on your best outfit. Infant the less clothes you wear is better as you get soaked on the boat! Nobody really wears much makeup or tan it's all natural and beachy. Jack Wills was established in Salcombe so a lot of people have found out about Salcombe through that and wear all the gear! Everywhere you look there are Quba Sails coats and MUSTO hats and boat shoes, true english style.  A pair of flip flops and some shorts and a big thick coat would do you.

BEACHES⚓
The beaches down here are stunning, when the weathers right obviously! Many of them have ferries that can take you across for a small fee. Over at East Portalmouth there is a beach cafe called The Venus Cafe! My last name is Venus so obviously i have to have a coffee!

Im on the way home as I write this. We went for a week and I'm honestly gutted to be coming home, It's 100% my happy place!
Here are some photos from my week there... enjoy x
